Emma: Miss Hermione herself was honestly the only celeb at the VMAs whom I could really get on board with! This dress is adorable, and as usual for Emma, incredibly well-tailored, well-proportioned, and fashion-forward! Love her!
Chelsea Chanel: I almost don't even feel comfortable having this photo on my blog. It's almost pornography. (Ha. Ha.) Maybe it's because Chanel is usually seen in jeans and t-shirts on Rob Dyrdek's shows, but there is something so OFF about this look! Her hair is schizo... The severe side-part, flat on one side and poofy on the other, and those hot pink tips? Awkward! Then again, her dress is schizo, too! Sheer and flowy on one side, dominatrix on the other? And helloooo ta-tas. Come on, girl. Invest in some sturdy undergarments and cover those bad boys up! // Alicia: I continue to want to like what Alicia Keys wears to awards shows. I continue to not. This is SO unflattering! // Nicki: I don't even know if Nicki is worth commenting on. Obviously she will always be worst dressed. She does it on purpose. I think... I hope... // Miley: The hair was one thing, but she needs to cool it a little with the extreme makeover. Her body looks great, but this is way too goth. It's verrrry reminiscent of a trend we saw earlier this year at the SAG Awards! // Sammy: This looks like a flight attendant Halloween costume. At least her hair looks pretty?
There is something I kind of like about both of these outfits, but there's just something about them that's a little bit off... Zoe: I sort-of like this girly, ripped-apart dress. I sort of like these caged shoes, though they're a bit "last season," if you will. I definitely like her messy faux-bob hairdo. But something about putting them all together just doesn't work for me. I feel like she needs a chunky Mary Jane and a time machine to 1995. (Not necessarily an insult.) // Rita: Waist-down, I'm digging this. Will you look at the giant rhinestone detailing at her ankle? Amaaaazing. Unfortunately, going head-to-toe gemstones with a too-wide "illusion" (very) deep V is going a bit too far.
I love that we're seeing the leather trend in such feminine silhouettes for Fall. Each of these ladies looks equally cool and girly at once. Elizabeth: I'm usually pretty iffy on cut-outs, but this neckline is pretty cool and not overwhelming. I also like that she kept her shoe choice simple with this black pair. (I think they're the same shoes Emma Watson is wearing!) // Rashida: I love everything that Rashida does, fashion or otherwise, so it's no wonder I think she look great! The classic cut is totally turned up a notch in leather, and she is wearing the coolest sparkly booties! // Maria: This dress and its "cups" are on the verge of freaking me out, but it's flouncy enough to not push me too over the edge. (Haha.) I also like that she upped the girly factor with these classic nude pumps, and let the funky dress be the center of attention.
What's with the suits?
Kat: Well, this isn't too bad. Aside from the fact that an exposed bra of this fashion is completely ridiculous. (Attention, ladies everywhere: You are not Carrie Bradshaw! Even if you are the "Carrie" of your group, your bra is not the Carrie's bra of your outfit. Keep it covered, girls!) I do like the tailoring of this suit, plus burgundy and wine shades are DEFINITELY in for Fall. I like the embellishment at the ankles, and the flatform peep-toe loafers are pretty adorable! Not a total fail. // Taylor: Speaking of total fails... TAYLOR! YOU ARE 22 YEARS OLD! Homegirl thinks she's Jane Fonda or something. Chill out!
RuPaul: I love this, besides the mandals. It's very Labor Day chic, sailor-esque, and modern. Cute! // Colton: I didn't know who this was, but I'm glad that I do now. He may be reason enough to watch Teen Wolf. (Just kidding. I will never watch Teen Wolf...) Anyway, this boy needs a menswear fashion blog. What a modern, fashion-forward look! I mean, he's wearing spikey loafers! Precious! // Vinny: Modern Marty McFly. I have a crush on you. // Tyler: If I were to dress a guy for the VMAs, this is how I would dress him. Easy, err on the side of casual, with a cool sneaker. Me likey.
Ezra: Sorry, friend. You were the only worst-dressed guy. Like, what is going on here? Rhinestone cowboy? Rodeo king? More like rodeo clown. I am not on board.
The Wanted: So cute! Really just classic. No one stands out to any extreme, but they happen to just look tailored and quite attractive. // The Saturdays: I have no clue who these gals are, or what they sing, but they look awesome! Their palette may be a tad too spring-y, but I love it anyway. I love that they kept it cohesive in their pale shades, but each girl easily expresses their own personality based on cuts, lengths, and style profiles. I especially love the two looks on the ends - the caged bodice on one end, and the billowy winter white on the other - lovely! // fun.- How cute are they?! I love that they have totally unique styles, and still look good through the quirkiness! So adorable. // One Directon: Yeah, I went there. They look good. I love the subtle pops of pumpkin-esque Fall tones. I especially love the pompadour 2nd to the right, and the thermal henley (minus the priest collar...) on the middle. They're precious; give 'em a break.
What do you all think? Do you agree/disagree? Who were your favorites this year? Who did I leave out?
